Elektriniai Matavimai is now completing the “Setup of a modern safe and secure parking area in Lithuania”

We would like to share with you the latest developments and part of the process of the implementation of a recent successful funding project.

By covering essential parts of the Baltic region, the Project, titled “Setup of a modern safe and secure parking area in Lithuania”, complies with the EU’s target to develop a trans-European transport network, equipped with SSTPAs every 100 km throughout the entire TEN-T Core Network.

The Project aims at complementing the priorities and objectives of the national transport policy of Lithuania. Indeed, the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications expressly supported the installation of this safe and secure truck parking area.

The Business Development Plan (Phase 1) was prepared and realised in 2019. Currently the Project is nearing the end of Phase 2, the completed set-up of the SSTPA in Raseiniai. The SSTPA will have 38 parking places for trucks of which at least 6 will be designated to plugin refrigerated trailers. The area will be fully covered with a video surveillance system and modern lights for the safety of cargo. The amenities for truck drivers will include separate showers and toilets for men and women, a kitchen and dining space, a laundry section, free Wi-Fi and rooms to relax. The trucks will be able to do quick maintenance and service on-site.

The completion of SSTPA is estimated for June 2022 and, as a result of the quality of the installation works and services provided, the parking area will be certified with the Gold-level certification, according to the EU-Parking Standard.
